Crookes glass is specifically formulated to absorb ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Soda glass: This is the most common and economical type of glass, primarily composed of sodium carbonate, silica, and lime. It is widely used for windows, bottles, and general-purpose items but offers no significant protection against ultraviolet radiation.
Pyrex glass: Also known as borosilicate glass, Pyrex is renowned for its high thermal resistance and chemical stability. It is commonly utilized in laboratory glassware, cookware, and industrial applications where heat endurance is crucial, but it is not specifically designed for UV absorption.
Jena glass: This is a type of borosilicate glass developed in Germany, known for its excellent resistance to heat, chemicals, and mechanical stress. It finds primary application in specialized laboratory equipment and industrial apparatus, but its main function is not ultraviolet protection.
