Alpha-keratin is a fibrous structural protein primarily found in epithelial tissues, including the skin. It is also a major component of hair, nails, claws, hooves, and wool. This protein provides mechanical strength, elasticity, and protective properties to these tissues and appendages.
Blood: Blood plasma contains various proteins such as albumin, globulins (e.g., antibodies), and fibrinogen, which are involved in transport, immunity, and clotting, respectively. Keratin is not a component of blood.
Lymph: Lymph is a fluid that circulates through the lymphatic system, containing white blood cells (lymphocytes) and proteins, primarily those involved in immune responses. It does not contain structural proteins like keratin.
Eggs: Eggs are rich in proteins, with albumin (specifically ovalbumin) being the most abundant protein in egg white. Other proteins include ovotransferrin and lysozyme. Alpha-keratin is not present in eggs.
