Tea: While Assam is widely recognized for its tea production, the Barak Valley's agricultural prominence, particularly concerning its most important crop, is more aligned with jute due to specific environmental suitability for jute.
Sugarcane: Sugarcane cultivation generally necessitates consistently high temperatures and often substantial irrigation. These requirements do not align with the primary agricultural patterns or optimal conditions for extensive sugarcane cultivation in the Barak Valley when compared to jute.
Cotton: Cotton is not extensively cultivated in the Barak Valley. Its specific growth requirements, such as particular soil types and drier conditions during the boll formation stage, differ from the prevailing agro-climatic characteristics of the region.
